Each year in late winter, flower farms fill their websites with rows upon rows of colorful blooms and set a date to open up their online shops to sell the tubers produced by their dahlias the year before. This sale date is often highly anticipated and marked on the calendars of countless home gardeners, like myself, in hopes of adding all the varieties on their wishlist to their gardens in the coming months. With hundreds of people counting down the minutes to click "add to cart", its not uncommon for some varieties to sell out in a matter of minutes. Adding even more excitement to the experience of buying new dahlias for your collection, especially if you're able to beat the rush and secure some of the unique varieties on your list.

I look forward to shopping the dahlia tuber sales every year to help brighten the cold winter days and provide inspiration for the coming growing season. As we are coming up on the first sales of the 2026 growing season, I thought it would be fun to share some of the dahlia varieties that I have been swooning over!
